A Space Where You Don’t Have to Explain Yourself

Gay Mens Yoga  offers services designed for gay men, including those navigating ageing, health changes, or simply wanting to feel more comfortable in their body.

For many gay men — especially later in life — health and wellness spaces haven’t always felt safe, inclusive, or easy to connect with.  

Here,  at GMY the studio is a space where you can:

  • Relax without judgement

  • Move at your own pace

  • Feel seen, respected, and understood

No pressure. No expectations. Just genuine support.

Why This Matters

As we get older, things naturally shift:

  • The body can feel tighter, weaker, or less stable

  • Stress, isolation, or life transitions may increase

  • Confidence in movement can drop

For some gay men, there can also be:

  • A sense of disconnection from mainstream services

  • Past experiences of not feeling fully accepted

  • A desire for spaces that feel more familiar and affirming

This program is designed with that understanding — and with you in mind.

What We Offer

Gentle Movement & Assisted Stretching

Supported assisted exercises  or chair based yoga options to improve strength, balance, and mobility — helping you move more comfortably in everyday life.

Breath & Regulation

Simple breathing techniques to reduce stress, settle the nervous system, and create a sense of calm.

Mindfulness & Relaxation

Guided practices that allow you to slow down, rest, and reconnect — both physically and mentally.

Who This Is For

  • Gay men aged 60+

  • Older adults in aged care 

  • Anyone wanting a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment

No yoga experience is needed. All abilities are welcome, and everything is adapted to suit you.

How Sessions Work

  • One-to-one sessions

  • Delivered in private Studio

  • Fully adaptable, including chair-based options

  • Guided by experienced, compassionate practitioner

Sessions are calm, structured, and paced around your comfort.

My Aged Care - Funding Options

Yoga can be included in your aged care funding in Australia when it forms part of a structured care plan.

This may be available through Home Care Packages (HCP) if the service:

  • Supports health, mobility, or independence

  • Is goal-oriented

  • Is approved by your care provider

In Australia yoga is recognised as a valuable therapeutic and lifestyle support for older adults.
